CARE INSTRUCTIONS

 |
There is a standing controversy over the use of Bactine, Bacitracin or Neosporin. We are not fans of Bactine and strongly recommend the use of Bacitracin or Neosporin. If used for a period of 7 to 14 days, it hastens the healing period and there is little chance of infection setting in. We cant tell anyone to use these products, only suggest it. The rest is up to you. When you leave our clinic, you are not infected. Keeping the piercing germ free is up to you and you alone. We can help by giving you as much information as possible, but ultimately its up to you. |
General after care instructions
With the exception of the tongue, all other piercings should be cleaned in the shower. You should use antibacterial soap on the piercing and remember to rinse the piercing thoroughly. After you towel off, lightly coat the ring and piercing with Bacitracin or Neosporin. This should be done twice daily for a period not to exceed 14 days. You should continue to use an antibacterial soap for the whole healing period, whether its 3 months, 6 months or a year the use of the antibacterial soap will help stop the piercing from being irritated.
Your diet is extremely important also. Your body can not heal correctly if you dont give it the right fuel, so eat smart and take daily multi vitamins as a supplement. You should also consider taking Zinc as a vitamin supplement. It is a very strong vitamin and should only be taken with food. If you do decide to take it and you feel woozy or it causes you to have an upset stomach, you should discontinue its use. Zinc is helpful in healing and has been reported to speed the healing time of a piercing by a third. The choice is up to you.
You should remember that your piercer is there for you, and if you have any questions about your piercing, you should call and find out what to do. We are here to serve you so please call us if you need anything at all. We are always available either by phone, fax or e-mail.
